I think that candies's didn't became to a cotton candy cause usually hard candy made with sweetener, not real sugar. meanwhile, the cotton candy machine melts the original sugar granules into caramel

Have you Never been to a Fair or Carnival and got a Cotton Candy? They put the Paper Cone INTO the drum to catch the candy as it comes out. They Don't hold the cone above the drum. Technique helps. Next time, maybe do a little More Research.
