Since Alina just announced a break from competitive skating, I'll probably stop watching "senior" ladies figure skating. It's really sad the "evolution" of figure skating. There is no room for athletes to grow since jumping with doubful technique has been rewarded with massive undeserving scores and goe, creating an illusion, that the young athletes are better then the experienced ones.

Please, don't comment during the live performance. Since there is some choreography talking over the music is as gross as being on the phone at the ballet. It disturbs the audience.

Rika 💕💕💕💕 She's such a fighter, what a great recovery after the short! I hope she can actually rest and let her ankle heal now (or after Nationals). I can't wait to see her back on the ice at full health and with her Lutz back.

Really, is this what figure skating is all about? jumping and moving along with a choreo that has absolutely no flow, energy, character? I don't care if these girls do quads, come on guys, skating is a form of art, not only a sport...Medvedeva has an amazing free program with Memoirs of a geisha, Alina skates so gracefully every time...Yuna Kim was the absolute perfection on ice and she never landed a quad...I vote for this generation of skaters and not the jumpers, they will be replaced before the Olympics of 2022, just remember it... Medvedeva and Alina have my utmost support! P.S If this is the evolution of figure skating, it is just a pity!

    • smurfiennes blue
      smurfiennes blue

It’s time to move on, have you seen how they jumped back in the 60s? I love Asada most, but these new girls have reached a different level than the previous generation. They deserve a huge applause from true figure skating fans. Look at Jason Brown, he’s so graceful but his jumps haven’t been improved to any quad, so he’s stuck at the moment.

This looked like a joke ; the two other were making a similar movement. After all ,those 3 girls are so young and it is reassuring that they can make fun on an event like this. This is probably a unique moment in the history of this sport ; Three young ladies dominating an individual sport and still acting as a unique team.

@Lala La thank you!🤗 I just wanted to know from someone who understands it, because another comment under that video (russian comment with those timestamps, and the answers on that) said something different like they laughed because she got the 6 place. But because it is a russian comment I had to Google translate it, and wanted to make sure what they are actually saying 😁

    • Lala La
      Lala La

Nothing particular. Just discussing something. Probably the scores. Something about the fourth place. They thought Alina is the forth. Anna says: "WE are the fourth" (wow, she says "we" about the scores of Alina!). And then the girls made a joke, smth like: "We are all the forth" (not in a bad sense, it just sounded funny). And they laughed. Sasha asked smth Alyona, smth like: "what has happened?" (Что произошло?) What Alyona says is not possible to hear. Alyona then also said that she can't see something. Probably the scores. Very innocent chatting. But it is how I hear it. Imay be wrong. One can hardly recognize what was said.

    • Lala La
      Lala La

Zagitova was and is a jumper too. But the figure skating has moved forward. The only problem of Alina is lack of 3A or a quad. And nerves. Otherwise she is a brilliant skater. One of the best. And her short program showed it. We saw it live. It was great! The free program was unsuccessful. It happens.

  • Heedy
    Heedy

People talking about Alina as if she is some ancient veteran...The girl is 17 SEVENTEEN...This is literally her THIRD 3rd year as a senior.....She is NOT some senior veteran retiree age...GOSH...I hate how russians only value little girls and push slightly older TEENAGERS to retirement...disgusting....Alina is DEFINITELY capable of having career longevity...also, this is the only year she's had a decent program...she needs to move to different coach, like Mishin or someone else, who's gonna treat her like the young athlete with potential, that she is...not some past her time, old hag...and her fans need to behave the same way as well

    • Heedy
      Heedy

@Ilya Orlovskiy and who do you think is my "Idol" lol?...And I didn't call the girls throwaway, I rather said that that's how the ISU and a lot of Russian fans treat them....asking a 17 year old to retire...disgusting...and I am shouting for the girls not to be treated in such derogatory manner...these amazing hardworking talented girls deserve better....Of course, the sport is not perfect...its far from it, but the judges and coaches can work together to make it better...reward GOOD technique (that is sustainable and which the girls can hold onto while growing up..not the muscling, pre-rotation, full blade galore that is so rampant in the Eteri clan but also with Alysa Liu), teach good technique...give PCS that isn't dependant on a skaters country of origin...give calls irrelevant of where the skater comes from..that's it...I am not being a self-righteous twit ..I just want what is best for these amazing girls...every single one of them.

    • Ilya Orlovskiy
      Ilya Orlovskiy

@Heedy WOW, what a consciousness stream! Wrong coaches, wrong judges, wrong public...just because your idol is not on the pedestal. The truth is that these "throwaways" have worked harder and they are just better than others. That's it. This is the progress, this is the sport. May be it's imperfect but I hear only whines and no real proposals how to improve it.

    • Heedy
      Heedy

and can we please stop pretending like the judges actually care what happens on ice unless the skaters make a splatfest visible error apparent to complete noob-laymen eyes...they don't care about the proper technique nor the artistry as long as they have little russian ice princesses who can just about jump impressively according to airhead publics who know nothing about the sport

    • Heedy
      Heedy

@Ilya OrlovskiyOrlovskiy lol, where did I insult her programs?...I just said these are the ONLY decent programs she's ever gotten..meaning these are the BEST programs she's ever gotten...all her other programs were atrocious...And the judges clearly don't care about program composition as they awarded her glass smashing POTO the highest of PCS....the judges are gonna reward whatever young russian lady delivers and then drop them as soon as another one comes up..they did it lipnitskaia, tuktik, radionova, medvedeva and its gonna follow zagitova as well..the judges start seeing faults with edges, URs and PRs only after a new baboschka jumps onto the scene, when they had the faults all along or would clearly develop the faults owing to being taught the short-cut technique....we can all see what team tutberidze and the judges are doing, just wish the public wouldn't blindly gobble it up and treat these TALENTED yound individuals as past their prime, throwaways..if this continues russia will only get Sara Hugheses over and over again and never their own Kwan, peggy flemming, katerina Witt, Yuna kim, Midori Ito, Mao Asada, carolina kostner or even a new generation Slutskaya..superstars with top careers spanning multiple quads..developing religious and reverent followings due to good practice and correct technique...all russians are gonna get are throwaway champions who are only gonna be mourned and scruitised but never revered.

  • Heedy
    Heedy

I thought I'd like Chris....but PLEASE FUCKING SHUT UP!!! You're talking like you've just started watching FS last week...like you don't know and can't see shit and can only look at the scores to see what's happening on the ice...HOW DO WE GET HIM FIRED AGAIN?

    • Roman Pipkin
      Roman Pipkin

Time for Alina to retire. And unless Evgenia manages to acquire some magic quad or super triple axel arsenal with Brian Orser, she won't even be able to make it into the World, Grand Prix Final and Olympic competitions in the coming seasons, however much her general skating might improve, as she is skating under the Russian Flag, and won't even qualify as representative of her country. Alina should take a leaf from Yuna Kim, and just skate a beautiful program on her own terms without bothering about whether she will win or not, and then retire, on her own terms, as a heroine and Olympic champion. Oops, big news just in: Russians banned from Worlds and Olympics. olympics.nbcsports.com/2019/12/09/russia-ban-sports-doping-wada/ Alina and Evegenia can compete as neutrals I guess....I guess they might be able to make it into the competitions.........

@lan huong Alina is a great heroine for having won the Olympic gold medal honorably, and winning the Worlds after that. You are a nobody ranting on EEsoft and barking like a crazy dog who sees a caravan passing by. Please don't use my post as a way to bark more and more just because you like to bark and have nothing better to do. Go pee in a corner, like the dog in the manger that you are, and stop bothering others with your barking and whining. I have not attacked a single athlete in this comment - why should I? I am not crazy like you, so why are you bothering me with your rants about this bots and that bots? And I can certainly call whoever I want as a heroine, so what business do you have to come and challenge me, and tell me how I should talk and think? I am not interested in your unhealthy obsession with Russian teenage figure-skaters and little girls. Now go to hell, and take your crazy and obsessive ranting elsewhere. Pervert.

    • lan huong

@wt When did I insult Alina? Please point out the words I use, right above? It's disgusting for the fraudulent exchange of comments from others, shameless lies. Zaghitovabots attacked Mevedeva constantly on ytb. Zaghitovabots always said that Mevedeva was a pig, a traitor, expecting her to fall, hoping she would bottom the charts. I will continue to watch Russian channels and continue to point out the disgust of Zaghitvoabots and Eteribots, until they stop attacking other athletes, whose latest victim is Alena, just because she is a winner, and their hero at the bottom of the rankings. This crazy and shameless bitch, go away. You can't stand when others disagree with you, you start going crazy. Expecting bad things to others, and it comes to myself faster. Retribution.

I think Alina already gave up this competition before it started because actually she had 0 chance to be in the podium without a 4 or 3A. But generally she is still very lucky because she was the 15 years old new girl in the olympic year, so she had chance to win. xD. I'm curious what will happen in 2022 in the next Olympics. I'm almost sure Alena, Sasha, Anna, none of them will be qualified because of the new 15 years old girls. But Im still hoping I'm wrong, I like Alena sooo much. Or ISU should change the senior age limit minimum to 17 to break this tendency. It is kinda ridiculous that adults have no chance in the senior (adult) category.

@Ain Syazween We'll see. It is always hard for female skaters to jump with the same quality after puberty. And actaully I do not like when these skaters do too many quads because they fall a lot and cannot focus on artistry either. That is why I prefer Alena, she has "only" 3A, but her program is clean and feels like a real performance, not just jumps, jumps, jumps... (and falls ':D )

    • Ain Syazween
      Ain Syazween

Krisztina Fekete no more longevity in this sport. Its more of a lucky strike that you're 15 years old during olympic and able to jump quads. But I am still hoping we'll see this girls still be doing quads in 3 years time in the olympics! 😁

Sasha is a force. She is determination. She will only get better. Anna seems very humble and kind. I like her attitude. Alina is a champion. No one can write her off. People like to see others fall, it’s kind of an entertainment, I guess. But these ladies will get up and make a great comeback.

You have to know the schedule protocols, according to the schedule the men skated first, then it was the junior skating of pairs and men; therefore his award was after the end of the men's junior final. His victory ceremony video is in the junior men's video. eesoft.info/hd/video/iXmwg3uqt2Z3Ydo
